Mamta Dadlani

Dr. Mamta Dadlani is the director and founder of Samavaya Psychology. 

 

For Clients

 

Mamta has experience working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relational violence, substance use, life transitions, academic and career issues, and relationship conflicts. She also work with people around issues of identity development and social position with attention to intersectionality.  She has experience addressing issues of race and racism, questioning and coming out, gender identity, economic class and social capital, use of religion in treatment, disability and ableism, and immigration and documentation concerns. She is deeply committed to addressing issues of social justice in her practice. Her general orientation to treatment is trauma-informed, relational, and cultural.

Mamta offers individual and group consultation to licensed clinicians. Mamta's work with clinicians is relational, social-justice oriented, and culturally-attuned, and together, we read, theorize, examine technique, and support the development of your own clinical voice.  Please feel free to contact Mamta to learn more about consultation and supervision possibilities.​​

For Learners

Mamta offers didactics to clinicians and academics via Samavaya Psychology’s interdisciplinary educational programs. At Samavaya, Mamta support developing a rigorous relationship between clinical and critical social theory, ancestral and empirical evidence, and practice with nuanced attention to the impact of power dynamics and social structures on mental health. She believes clinical knowledge is formed in relationship to theory, practice, and social structures, and she support clinicians in understanding themselves as clinical observers, hypothesis testers, and theory developers.

Mamta values co-learning and community-driven content. Many of us have have incredible knowledge bases but do not have ready access to academic and professional spaces to share this knowledge. Samavaya aims to help us come together and amplify our innovative theoretical and clinical work.  Colleagues are encouraged to both teach and learn in this space, and can received mentorship from Mamta towards their teaching goals.
