Group Psychotherapy
I offer both skills-based support groups and psychotherapy process groups.
Support groups offer an opportunity to build community and exchange resources while process groups allow for participants to reflect on the nature of how they build connections in group as a mirror of outside relationships. Both approaches to groups allow for the exploration of particular mental health concerns (depression, panic, eating-issues, substance use, etc) as well as shared/not shared experiences and identities (race, gender, sexuality, class, citizenship, religion, etc).
As a community-based practitioner and researcher, I prefer to build groups based on the individuals who seek me out and the issues that seem to emerge around me. The list below reflects my current status of groups, and this page is regularly updated.
To join a group, please schedule an individual 30-minute consultation to discuss your concerns and ensure that the group meets your needs. Initial Consultations and Pre-Registration are Required
Current Open Groups

Enrollment is $50/group meeting.

Women in Academia: From Surviving to Thriving
Start Date: End January/Early Feb 2018
Group Time: TBD: Evening on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday
Female-identified students frequently feel isolated when pursing higher education, from negotiating department politics to pursing work/life balance to completing academic tasks such as narrowing focus, completing a thesis or dissertation, and preparing for exams and evaluations.
This support group aims to shift the focus from Surviving to Thriving by building a supportive network and discussing issues relevant to multiple stages of academic and professional development. We will hold an intersectional lens when exploring this development, attending to issues that intersect with gender including race, religion, social class, immigration, ability, and others. Members will identify personalized weekly goals, share victories, and discuss personal challenges with group support and feedback.
Topics may include: questioning legitimacy of one's scholarship; developing professional identity; applying for graduate or post-graduate work; funding and financial concerns; negotiating abuses of power; identifying strategies for interacting with faculty; developing time management and organizational skills; negotiating multiple roles; and self-care.
Can you Hear Me?: Women of Color Dialogue

Group Time: TBD: Evening on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday
This group aims to open a space of dialogue and support for women of color looking to build community. The group goals and process will be determined collaboratively by participants and facilitator.

For insurance
I am an out-of-network provider and can provide you with a statement for services which you can submit to your insurance provider. When possible, I work with your insurance company to minimize your out-of-pocket costs. In situations of financial hardship, I offer a sliding scale.
Please call me to discuss my current fee structure for individual and group therapy.
